He's home and he's my favorite!!!

Baseball + Water ='s ??????

Just as my oldest was warming up on the mound the sprinklers came on! It meant a twenty minute delay, but the boys enjoyed the diversion. Life is full of surprises isn't it.

Wednesday

I had so much fun taking pictures on the Ferry yesterday that we came back again to day. Here's the ferry coming into port.
We then met my sons' good friends at Dairy Queen for ice cream. Even though it's not the best picture, I wanted to post this as a reminder of what a blessing it is when God brings into your life, young people who love the Lord to befriend your children.

We had to cross the Ferry to get to Joe's game on Tuesday. It was a beautiful and brillant spring day. I was able to capture just some of the blue sky and sunshine behind the Ferry's flag.

Class Assignment

The assignment for my photography class this week is to take photos of ordinary things in a way that makes them extraordinary. I decided to do it myself. They is titled Bulb .

Photographs bring beauty to the most mundane tasks-like washing dishes...
...and cooking.

My azaleas are in full bloom, and they beg me to take their picture while they are so glorious! I just can't resist their lush beauty.

Friday was almost as busy as Thursday, but I did have time to snatch a few shots of some of the flowers blooming at my house. Sadly they will be gone too soon.

Joe had a great game tonight. This is him rounding 2nd going to 3rd after slamming a ball to deep left field. It ended up being a grand slam (there were 3 men on base ahead of him) in the park home run! He is so blessed to be on this team.

As usual Thursday was nonstop from start to finish. I won't miss the hectic pace of WFAAS, but I will miss the people.

I just love little ones. They speak my language.

Swamp Beauty

We went back to check on the alligators today. While there I snapped a few shots not expecting to see much. But once again my camera found beauty where I only saw murky water and shade of brown. I don't know which I like better the colors of the first one or the simple lines found in the B&W. Which do you prefer and why?

Can you find the alligator?

A Walk Through Town

I am blessed to live is a beautiful, quiet and historical small town. My youngest and I strolled through our own little slice of heaven this afternoon. There were so many photo ops that I took 76 photos in about 20 minutes Most of them were pretty good photos so I had a hard time picking what to post. I settled for these 5 as my favorites.

This one was taken in a lovely little gift shop that overflowed with merchandise for the romantic at heart. I like the geometric sensations of this shot.

I think my husband will appreciate this one. It's more of the flowers he loves to see each spring.

I just love this shot and I don't know why. I feel I'm being invited to sit for a while and enjoy the beauty of the day.

I love photographing flags. They have a freedom and a power that draw me in.

Pink always makes me smile and think of dancing curls and gigling little girls.

We Won 9-7

My ds was the starting pitcher in our game against our biggest rival. He allowed 5 runs in the first inning just so his mother could have a nervous breakdown in the stands! :) After that he pitched just great. 5 or 6 strikeouts, no other hits and no more runs. The last 3 innings it was 3 up 3 down as he got 9 batters out in a row! His good buddy Chuck came in and closed out the game allowing only 2 more runs. The bats got to smokin and they came back to win with a final score of 9-7. Great Game Patriots!

I love to see the comraderie between competitors who are also believers in Christ. Makes for fun sporting events.

With sport sphotography you just never know what you're going to get. Notice that his left foot is about 2 1/2 feet off the ground. He was throwing the ball as he twirled and made a good throw. I have no idea how he can do that!

Floral Glory

These are for my husband who's away working in Australia. He loves spring time here. He most especially loves the beautiful flowers that bloom all over our parish. So honey, these are for you. Wish you were here!

Gator Surprise

The main street where we live meanders out of town to dissappear into the Mississippi River. Between town and the river is a small swamp area that borders the street. My son and I were headed to the River to get some pictures when we spotted these 3 alligators. It's such a blessing to live in a town where we have access to McDonald's and alligators in the wild! We both went crazy taking pictures, so I don't know which of us actually got the shots I've posted.

A Boy and His Kitty

Cats are like people. There are certain individuals that we just take to and claim as our own. Our cat Homer is this way about my eldest son. He won't let Joe sleep alone and often keeps him warm when there is a chill in the air.

Evening after Rain

I went out a few minutes ago just at sunset to try to find a few good shots. I love the new growth on my rose bushes. The Christmas red and greens of the new leaves signal that roses will be blooming again soon.
Here's more new growth found on my variegated hydrangea. I just thought it was interesting in b&w.
I want to get as many shots as I can of the azaleas blooming because my dh who's away will at least get to enjoy them from our photos.
I underexposed these last two with fun results. I rather like the mysterious tone to them.
